CAIRO, July 22. At least four people have been  killed in suicide attacks on a military base in Benghazi – the second largest city in Libya. This was stated by a representative of the Interior Ministry.

According to local media reports, the incident occurred in the quarter Buatni south-east of the city, where is located the headquarters of the Libyan army special forces. One of the terrorists blew himself up at the entrance to the base, the second – directly on site. All the victims – the military.

Responsibility for the explosion has not yet assumed none of the existing regional terrorist groups.

In the area of ​​Benghazi periodically flare up fighting between government troops and militants.

A day earlier in fierce clashes in Benghazi have killed at least 16 people, more than 80 were injured. Armed confrontation broke out in the territory of military barracks, which were attacked by armed police Islamists.
