Ukrainian President has unveiled a program of national reform until 2020

On Thursday, during a press conference in Kiev, Ukraine’s President Poroshenko has presented his new program “Strategy 2020″. It calls for reforms, whose main objective to provide Ukraine to six years to apply for the acquisition of membership in the European Union.

What transformations intends to pursue Poroshenko

According to the President, the reform is expected to start at the same time in all spheres of society. “When we discussed the reform, we were advised not to start immediately reform in all areas, but we would do differently. For me the main point is that the reforms are being supported by the Ukrainian people,” – said the president.

According to him, this reform package will be ready before the start of the new Parliament.

Among the priorities of the president has called anti-corruption reform which is  involving renovation of power and bureaucracy, judiciary and tax reform, decentralization of power, deregulated businesses, police reform, the development of the defense complex.

According to the president of Ukraine, there are also planned programs to achieve energy independence of the state and the promotion of Ukraine in the world. “The essence of the reform is to ensure that instead of bad rules to create good,” – said the head of state.

Adoption of a law on lustration

The President also announced that he would sign the previously adopted by the Verkhovna Rada law on lustration. Presenting at a press conference in Kiev reform program entitled “Strategy 2020″, Poroshenko explained this need to create the country’s “reform group”.

“So I will soon sign a law on lustration, – he said. – I’m sure that new people must build the country with the new president.”
