OTTAWA, October 23. Canada will continue to deploy forces in the Middle East to fight with the group Islamic State (IG), despite the attacks of the Islamists in the Canadian Forces. This was announced on Wednesday, Defense Minister Robert Nicholson.


“The deployment of our forces to support international operations in Iraq will continue, no matter what. Our troops will continue to be on guard and be vigilant in carrying out their duty to protect Canada and Canadians,” – he said.


The Canadian contingent will be based at the air base in Kuwait. Total anti-Islamic State government of Prime Minister Stephen Harper is sending six fighters, two reconnaissance aircraft CP-140 Aurora and one tanker aircraft Airbus CC-150 Polaris. Also in the Middle East will come 600 troops “to support air missions.”


As previously reported, Stephen Harper, the Canadian Air Force would bomb Islamist only on the territory of Iraq. He stressed that the military will not be involved in a possible ground operation.


According to media reports, the first combat sorties on rebel positions Canadian pilots can make at the end of October.
