Jordan has arrested one of the spiritual leaders of the al-Qaeda

Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi accused in propaganda of terrorist organizations


Kuwait City, October 27. Jordanian security forces arrested an influential spiritual mentor of the group Al-Qaeda Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi, pan-Arab media reported.


The grounds for arrest are reportedly became incitement to terrorism. Al-Maqdisi accused of posting messages in the Internet, aimed at the promotion of terrorist organizations.


Al-Maqdisi is considered one of the spiritual mentors leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who was killed in 2006. This group eventually transformed into the Islamic state (IG).


Arrested extremists in June was released from prison where he was serving a five-year term. Moreover, as emphasized by the media in the region, al-Maqdisi was released from custody, to oppose the Islamic State, which feared the spread of the kingdom of power. Spiritual mentor, Al-Qaeda has repeatedly pointed out that the establishment of an Islamic caliphate will lead to more violent feuds among terrorist groups, such as en-Nusra Dzhebhat and Islamic State.
