CAIRO, October 30. Israeli authorities for the first time after the end of the Six Day War in 1967 completely blocked the access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque for Muslims. Told TV channel Sky News Arabia.


In the office of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has stressed that “closing the passage to the Al-Aqsa Mosque is equivalent to a declaration of war.”


The status of “Al-Haram Al-Sharif” (“Noble Sanctuary” also known as the Temple Mount) is one of the most acute problems of the Palestinian-Israeli relations, and the issue of Jerusalem as a whole – the city of three religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam). That there is Al-Aqsa Mosque, built in the late VII – beginning of the VIII century.


Temple complex in Jerusalem is considered the third most important and largest shrine of Muslims after Mecca and Medina. That aside Al-Aqsa Mosque accessed at the dawn of Islam faithful in prayer.
