Paris will not allow militants to return to the area, said the Minister of Defence of France

PARIS, October 24. France extends its military operations in the north of Mali, to combat extremists. This was stated by the Minister of Defence of France, Jean-Yves Le Drian in Dakar.

The Minister is in the capital of Senegal for a visit.

“French President Francois Hollande considers it necessary to increase our efforts in the north of Mali. We take steps to increase its military presence in the region,” – quoted him as saying to local media.

The Minister stressed that France “does not intend to give the forces of evil to return to the area,” from which the armed groups of militants were ousted last year in a joint operation of the French contingent and government troops in Mali.
