LONDON, October 31st. One in seven young Briton like a terrorist group Islamic state (IG) operating in Syria and Iraq. Reported October 31 newspaper Times, which publishes a survey conducted by the service Populus.

It was attended by 1,200 people in the UK. They had a list of states and organizations were asked to rate their attitude to them on a scale, the newspaper said.

“Despite the fact that most of the public – 88% – was given the lowest score of the Islamic State, 5.2% of respondents aged 18 to 34 years old gave her assessment of the” nine out of ten. “Overall, 14% of respondents under 25 years of age and 12 % of those 25 to 34, were given the Islamic State from seven to ten points, which indicates a certain sympathy, “- says Times.

Among young people who are sympathetic to the Islamic State, constitute most of the Islamists. However, experts warn that among them there is a small but still significant number of those who are not Muslims, but disappointed by the British government and its foreign policy, the newspaper notes.

According Jonathan Gizersa-Mazer, associate professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Exeter, the mood of young Britons affected “digital revolution.” Young people are skeptical of traditional media and are influenced interyet blogs that preach radical ideas, experts say.
