ANKARA, October 24. About 1.3 thousand fighters so-called “Syrian Free Army” can be sent to the city of Kobani to help fighting there Kurds in the fight against extremist group Islamic State (IG). This was announced on Friday, by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at a press conference in Tallinn, where he was visiting.


According to the President, the Syrian “Party of Democratic Unity has agreed to pass in Kobani 1,300 people from the ranks of the Syrian Free Army.” “Right now, negotiations are continuing on how the way they will be able to get there,” – said Erdogan. Armed wing of the Party of Democratic Unity is currently continuing to defend the city from attack militants of the Islamic State.


The Turkish President also noted that the Syrian Kurds are considering joining to Kobani 150 members of the “Peshmerga” – armed groups of Iraqi Kurdistan. According to Erdogan, Turkey “primarily prefers Syrian Free Army to help in Kobani and” Peshmerga “is considered in the second place.”
