According to authorities, at least 30 Malaysians are taking part in the hostilities in Syria and Iraq on the side of the militants
SINGAPORE, Oct. 15. Malaysian Police have arrested 13 people on the eve of the country suspected of having links with a terrorist group the Islamic State (IG), who planned to move to Syria to participate in hostilities. This was reported on Wednesday the electronic version of the newspaper Star.
“We constantly monitor such activities. Terrorism has no place in our country,” – leads edition police chief Khalid Abu Bakar of Malaysia.
Since April, the country had been arrested 36 people on suspicion of having links with the Islamic State. According to authorities, at least 30 Malaysians are taking part in the hostilities in Syria and Iraq on the side of the militants.
Supporters of the Islamic State in Malaysia are actively using Facebook and other social networks to recruit local citizens, including women.
