GENEVA, Aug. 27. UN commission to investigate possible violations of human rights in the Syrian Arab Republic (UAR) argues that the Syrian authorities in April, used chemical weapons on the west of the country. This is stated in the next IPCC report, submitted on Wednesday.

As stated in the document, the government forces attacked areas populated by civilians in the provinces of Idlib and Hama in the period from 11 to 29 April. A total of 8 of these cases are described.

“Witnesses saw helicopters, bombs and thrown off the drum immediately after their break smell similar to chlorine,” – the document says. Citing witnesses and doctors members of the Commission, established three years ago, claim that after the attack people were seen symptoms similar to those seen after the use of chemical agents – nausea, skin irritation, respiratory problems and shock.

The Commission concluded that “there are reasonable grounds to believe that chemical agents were used” 8 times in 10 days, as well as “reasonable grounds to believe that they were thrown with the cask bombs of government helicopters.”
