LONDON, August 20th.Extremist group “Islamic State” (IG) has declared war to the West and the Arab world. This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Great Britain, Philip Hammond.

In the case if IG will create  its own subunits in the occupied territories in Iraq and Syria, it will be dangerous throughout Europe and the world, said the head of department, Philip Hammond

“There is no doubt that such a state would become a base for attacks on the West. Movement IG is now a war against the Arab countries, against the traditional Muslim society, against the West. And we must come out of this situation in their actions with regard to the IG,” – said Hammond.

At the same time, the Foreign Minister pointed out that “even if we defeated him, then fought in the IG militants from the UK and other EU countries, on returning home, will represent a huge threat to national security.”

“We do not exclude the possibility that these people will continue the armed struggle at home – in the EU, Australia, the United States and the Arab countries,” – he added.

Hammond said that Britain and other Western countries are now “doing everything to prevent leaving radicalized young people in Iraq and Syria.”

UK “monitors people coming to this region, as well as monitoring their activities in these countries,” he said.

“We have the authority to arrest them for the return to British territory. At the same time, they may be subject to prosecution for acts committed in the Middle East” – the minister added.

“Now we must defeat the whole movement” Islamic state. “However, the ground troops of the Western countries in Iraq will not. But we will provide support for the new Iraqi government, to provide proven, carry out air cover. Obviously, the Iraqi troops who are now regrouping need weapons and equipment, “- said the Minister.

Foreign Minister did not rule out that the EU countries will host Iraqi soldiers for the passage of combat training in special camps. “We are open to receive requests from Iraq to help, training and support for the most diverse,” – he stressed. In this case, Hammond said that “neither the Iraqi nor the Kurdish leadership does not ask us to send combat troops to the country.”

“Who holds the UK aviation exploration in northern Iraq as part of the humanitarian operation, but we are ready to consider the request for such support and Iraqi troops to counter the orders of the IG,” – said the Minister.
