Ukrainian President expects that military operations in the east of the country may be terminated in early September

BRUSSELS, August 30. Military solution to the conflict in the east of Ukraine does not exist. This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

“We have a full understanding that there is no military solution to the conflict”, – he told reporters following a bilateral meeting with European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso. According to Poroshenko, “the most important thing right now – it is the peace”.

He also expressed hope that the EU will not leave unanswered Russia’s policy towards Ukraine.

Ukrainian President expects that military operations in the east of Ukraine may be terminated in early September. At the same time, he opposed direct military assistance to Ukraine from the West, saying that Kiev is not thinking about the fact that “the military of other countries will fight side by side with the Ukrainian military.”

However Poroshenko said that Ukraine needs international “military-technical support.”
