Most resonant protests and riots with African Americans in USA
American city Ferguson, Missouri, second week is covered with riots. Clashes between locals and security forces began after the murder a black young man by a police officer.
18-year-old Michael Brown was shot and killed Aug. 9, 2014. According to law enforcement agencies, the young man was suspected that he had taken out of a box of cigars store without paying for them. In this case, Brown allegedly grabbed and then pushed Supermarket worker who tried to stop him.
According to media reports, the young man was unarmed, but refused to comply with the requirements of law enforcement.
Residents Ferguson accused police of excessive use of force. The city’s population is about 21 000 people, about 60% of them – African Americans. In this case, of the 53 city police are dark-skinned only six.
Thousands protest against the actions of the police in Ferguson several times escalated into riots. There were cases of vandalism, looting, and the use of firearms by demonstrators and Molotov cocktails. The police, in turn, was forced to use tear gas against the demonstrators and other special means. In many American cities have been less numerous actions in support of the residents of Ferguson.
