Municipality of Donetsk: the main source of water for the city has been stopped

Because of the fighting to assess the extent of damage Verhnekalmiusskoy filtration plant is not possible, added the city government

Donetsk, on 18 August. Because of damage to power lines the main source of water supply in Donetsk – Verhnekalmiusskaya filter station has been stopped. Such an information was reported by the city hall.

“Estimating the scale of damage and the duration of the repair work of the fighting is not possible. Urgently developed measures to ensure the transport of drinking and industrial water to the city,” – said in a statement.

City officials also asked the residents of the city who have wells  are requested  to provide water to their neighbors.

The city also remain de-energized 88 transformer substations.
